Great news! I have recently been invited to participate in
the
Woo Hoo!
So I once again, ask for you support in order to participate.
The fee is $160 and the deadline is Monday. Donations in excess of that amount
will be used for art supplies and equipment and business presentation.

I am incredibly excited to participate in the North Toronto
Group of Artists Fall Fine Arts Show on November 8th and 9th,
2013. The deadline to register is June 24th and the cost is $150 and
an additional $10 for a booth which is quite reasonable.
When I worked with a PR/Event planner to raise funds for my
effort to exhibit in China, we spoke about Canadians who were in financial
stress.
He showed me a picture of the long line up of people at the
food bank in Toronto. The image was sobering. The line up of people spanned the
street and curved around the block in his neighbourhood. That image has stayed
with me until now.
It reminded me that although at times money is usually the
reason that I am unable to participate in art related events, a lot of people
are still in need of the basics. It makes me grateful for all that I have, but for some reason doesn't stop me from wanting more!

Sadly, I wasn’t able to make it to China or to participate in
the Shanghai Yude Exhibition Company’s programming which is pretty disappointing considering I missed a scheduled television interview. But, I'm still working my way there! Think up!
Boo hoo.
The journey to get there
was filled with rises and plateaus. The fact that I was invited made me
deliriously happy. Dreaming big pays off and I look forward to exhibiting in
China at a later date.

I have yet to work out the conflict with Tyler, but I trust
that the business that he is building is doing well and flourishing as he has a
great talent and is smart.
Forest Hill is a great area. And guess what! They have an
amazing farmer’s market!

It is located on Yonge Street North of Eglinton in front of the
Post Office. Prices are reasonable and the vendors provide great fresh fruit
and veggies, maple syrup, honey and loads of wonderful things to eat. Support local
farmers!!
Art. A non-essential. Something that can calm someone down
in an instant, make them laugh, fill them with inspiration and joy, break their
heart, inform them, put them at ease.
The journey toward my effort to exhibit in China was a great
learning experience filled with a few bumps along the way. I look forward to
more opportunities to share my works of art with you and to show you the world
through my eyes.

Put on your dancing shoes and have a drink. I remember when
I used to go regularly to the parade. It was so much fun. I was usually drunk
by 5pm.
Oh, how things change as we mature. My friends would usher me around to
various bars and we drink and laugh. I made a lot of great friends that I still
love to this day.
So to all my pals, I wish you the happiest Pride ever!
And yesterday was National Aboriginal Day.
National Aboriginal Day itself officially started in 1996
when then Governor General, Roméo LeBlanc, proclaimed the day to be celebrated
on June 21, the summer solstice. But even before that, in 1982, The National
Indian Brotherhood (now the Assembly of First Nations) called for the creation
of a National Aboriginal Solidarity Day to be celebrated on June 21. These
thoughts were also echoed in 1995 at a national conference called The Sacred
Assembly which was chaired by Elijah Harper.
As Canada’s first and only Aboriginal broadcaster, APTN quickly
realized that a national television event was in order for this important day
of the year. The first APTN Aboriginal Day Live broadcast took place on June
21, 2007 outside of APTN headquarters in Winnipeg.
The one-hour concert was hosted by APTN National News
Host/Producer Cheryl McKenzie and radio personality, Ray St. Germain. The
talent showcase featured “Fiddle Master” Donny Parenteau, the Asham Stompers,
champion hoop dancer Lisa Odjig, Juno award winner Leela Gilday, Nunavut’s own
Lucie Idlout, Dead Indians and the internationally renowned C-Weed Band.
